Islam is an uncomplicated deen. Sadly, it is we who twist and bend it to suit our personal needs, agendas, and justify our actions. The historical elements of our deen presented in the Qur’an & Sunnah are contextual, however that does not mean the concepts spoken of are not applicable to our present day lives.
As Allah reminds us:
يَا أَيُّهَا الَّذِينَ آمَنُوا لاَ تُقَدِّمُوا بَيْنَ يَدَيِ اللَّهِ وَرَسُولِه ِ وَاتَّقُوا اللَّهَ إِنَّ اللَّهَ سَمِيعٌ عَلِيم
“O you who believe! Do not put (yourselves) forward before Allaah and His Messenger, and fear Allāh. Verily! Allaah is All-Hearing, All-Knowing.”
(Surah Al-Hujurat, 49:1)
Islam is indeed timeless Alhumdulillah.
