Narrated Abu Huraira (radhiAllahu ‘anhu):

The Prophet (sallAllahu ‘alayhi wa sallam) said, “The Hour (Last Day) will not be established until (religious) knowledge will be taken away (by the death of religious learned men), earthquakes will be very frequent, time will pass quickly, afflictions will appear, murders will increase and money
will overflow amongst you.” (See Hadith No. 85 Vol 1).

haakym:

It was narrated that Abu Lubaabah ibn ‘Abd al-Mundhir said: The Prophet (peace and blessings of Allaah be upon him) said:

“Friday is the master of days, and the greatest of them before Allaah. It is greater before Allaah than the day of al-Adha and the day of al-Fitr. It has five characteristics: on this day Allaah created Adam, on it He sent Adam down to the earth, on it Allaah caused Adam to die, on it there is a time when a person does not ask Allaah for anything but He gives it to him, so long as he does not ask for anything haraam, and on it the Hour will begin. There is no angel who is close to Allaah, no heaven, no earth, no wind, no mountain and no sea that does not fear Friday.”

[Narrated by Ibn Maajah, 1084; classed as hasan by Shaykh al-Albaani in Saheeh al-Jaami’, no. 2279]

Inspirations come from true stories. Relying on lies and made up stories is not from our deen, even if they appease us.

Hafs Ibn ‘Aasim said: The Prophet صلى الله عليه وسلم said: “It is sufficient that a man has lied who narrates everything that he hears.”

[Reported by Imaam Muslim in the introduction to his Saheeh. Imaam Muslim also quotes another chain on the authority of Hafs bin `Aasim from Abu Hurairah رضي الله عنه from the Prophet صلى الله عليه وسلم. It was also reported in Sunan Abu Dawood (4992) and authenticated by Shaikh al-Albaanee.]

Messenger of Allaah said, ‘I have not left you anything that will bring you closer to Allaah except that I have commanded you with it.’

Hudhaifa ibn al-Yaman (radiAllaahu ta’aala ‘anhu) said: I heard the Messenger of Allaah (salAllaahu ‘alayhi wa sallam) say:

“Trials and Tribulations will be presented to the hearts just like as a reed mat is interwoven, stick by stick. Any heart which absorbs these trials will have a black mark put in it. However, any heart that rejects them will have a white mark put in it. The result is that hearts will be of (one of) two kinds: one white like a white stone, which will not be harmed by trials as long as the heavens and earth endure; and the other dark and rusty, like an over-turned vessel, not able to recognize the good, nor reject evil, but rather being absorbed with its desires.”

The Messenger of Allaah (sallAllahu ‘alayhi wa sallam) [Bukhari (12/41) and Muslim (9/140)]

Narrated Abu Huraira (radhiAllahu ‘anhu): Allah’s Apostle (sallAllahu ‘alayhi wa sallam) said,

“When the Imam says, ‘Sami’ a-l-lahu Liman hamida,’ you should say, ‘Allahumma Rabbana laka-l-hamd.’ And if the saying of any one of you coincides with that of the angels, all his past sins will be forgiven.”

— [Sahih Bukhari Vol. 1, no. 762]

Narrated Anas bin Malik (radhiAllahu ‘anhu): The Prophet (sallAllahu ‘alayhi wa sallam) said,

“What is wrong with those people who look towards the sky during the prayer?” His talk grew stern while delivering this speech and he said, “They should stop (looking towards the sky during the prayer); otherwise their eye-sight would be taken away.”

[Sahih Bukhari Vol. 1, no. 723]

Narrated Anas bin Malik (radhiAllahu ‘anhu): The Prophet (sallAllahu ‘alayhi wa sallam) led us in prayer and then went up to the pulpit and beckoned with both hands towards the Qibla of the
masjid and then said,

“When I started leading you in prayer, I saw the display of Paradise and Hell on the wall of the masjid (facing the Qibla). I never saw good and bad as I have seen today.”

He repeated the last statement thrice.
